Your Key To The Finest Ferrari Automobiles

More than 150 Dinos and over 300 Ferraristi gathered in Maranello for an event celebrating the half-century of the Ferrari Dino. As shown by the utterly impressive turnout, the Dino is one of the best-selling Ferraris and has a special place in the heart of many Ferrariristi.

Aimed at competing directly with the Germans, it was fitted with a new V-6 engine instead of the traditional Ferrari V-12. The name was a tribute to Enzo Ferrari’s first-born son, Alfredo known as “Dino,” who created the innovative V-6 engine while battling muscular dystrophy. The first series, the seductive Dino 206 GT, was produced in 1968 and 1969. It was followed by the more powerful 246 GT and GTS who were produced until 1974.

On the morning of the commemorative event, two groups of 206 GT, 246 GT & GTS and 308 GT4 Dinos arrived in the forecourt of the Maranello Museum, and then headed to Fiorano. The cars paraded on Ferrari’s test track before gathering on the steering pad for an absolutely stunning colorful aerial photo. At midday, the Dinos drove into the Ferrari gates, where the customers were given a special factory tour. The day was closed with the traditional drive, one car at a time, under the arch of the historical entrance on Via Abetone Inferiore.
