Ferrari is set to continue its tradition of celebrating the great classic motor races of the past.
The 102nd Targa Florio will be held from October 4th to the 7th. We are glad to announce that Ferrari customers, with cars from every era, are once again invited to participate in the Ferrari Tribute dedicated to one of the world’s oldest races. A race that has hosted the most epic battles and that was won by the likes of Tazio Nuvolari, Manuel Fangio and Nino Vaccarella. Ferrari participants will compete in the same regularity race as the Targa Florio Classica for models built before 1977. The cars will compete along a three-legged course, on the very streets where the greatest drivers competed from 1906 to 1977, trying to take home the prestigious price established by racing pioneer Vincenzo Florio.
The city of Palermo, the 2018 Italian Capital of Culture, will be the center of the course which will reach the most evocative locations of Sicily. On Friday October 5th the group will move to the coastal zone in the province of Trapani through Saline and Marsala. The return trip passes through Calatafimi, Monreale and reaches Palermo at the end of the day.
On the second day, the cars will run through the legendary streets of the Parco delle Madonie, which made this event famous thanks to its attractions, from Floriopoli to the town of Cerda, from the old fortress town of Caltavuturo to Castelbuono and Cefalù.
The last racing day will take place in the immediate surroundings of Palermo: Carini, with its medieval fortress, the Isola delle Femmine, the small village of Mondello, a famous Sicilian attraction where a re-enactment of the Favorita circuit (which was part of Targa Florio from 1937 to 1940) is in schedule.
